Quantum styling, LV’s ‘sneakerina’, and would you buy your make-up from SKIMS?
Spirituality has officially hit fashion – for $250,000 a pop
Hola!
Happy first letter of April. And happy 6 months of this letter! How time flies when you’re having fun.
In the northern hemisphere, it’s safe to say we’re officially in Spring. And the weather here in London is certainly showing up for this change in season. Unfortunately, I have come down with a serious cold, so haven’t been able to enjoy much of it…
I had all these grand plans for this week’s letter, including a very special announcement!!! Instead, I’ve had to humbly submit to the timing of the universe and succumb to the fact that this week is not the week to announce any sort of big changes.
I haven’t been sick for at least 6 months, so I’ve been a touch rocked by this very normal life experience. But alas, we keep it moving.
As my brain is pretty much addled to mush this week, I’ve decided to keep this week’s letter simple. A round-up of what’s piqued my interest this week across culture, business, brands, life.
Enjoy!
Agenda for today’s letter:
There’s no doubt about it: the ballerina-sneaker is the shoe of the summer
So, apparently quantum styling is a thing
The hospo x retail trend strikes again
M&A Corner: Would you buy your make-up from SKIMS?
Thank you to all of you who have been diligently sharing this letter with your gorgeous friends. There are so many exciting things coming in the next few months; now is truly the best time to get in on all the fun… Rach x
#1. The ballerina-sneaker is the hottest shoe for the summer…
Although not all who jump in on the trend are doing it well
It was only 2 weeks ago when I examined the rise of the ballerina-sneaker trend.
And it doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.
Behold, what just landed in my inbox... In a shoe dubbed, “The sneakerina”, Louis Vuitton is now getting in on the fun.
I have been loving what LV have been doing with their Takashi Murakami collab. However, I’m not too sure the sneakerina quite hits the mark…
#2. So, apparently quantum styling is a thing
And it costs $250,000 USD for the year…
Yes, you heard that right. Spirituality has officially hit fashion, with quantum styling being touted as the hottest thing for the rich and famous.
I first read about it in Amy Odell’s Substack Back Row. But it was originally reported on by The Hollywood Reporter, who interviewed the Nicole Pollard Bayme (stylist to A-listers, Hollywood execs and the like).
